Demolition

Heavy demolition

Stockholm · Mälardalen · all of Sweden

Heavy demolition is our niche: mechanical demolition of load-bearing structures in concrete and steel – complete frames, floor slabs and foundations. We demolish high-rises and industrial buildings – even in the heart of the city – in Stockholm and Mälardalen, and take on heavy assignments across Sweden. We have our own machine fleet and our own crew to carry out the entire job, from start to finish.

Machines for the heavy jobs

High-reach demolition excavators plus tracked and wheeled excavators from 1 to 40 tonnes, equipped with concrete crushers, hydraulic breakers, demolition grabs and other hydraulic attachments. The right machine and the right tool for every stage – from roof to base slab.

Demolition floor by floor – even in the city centre

Tall buildings are demolished top-down, floor by floor, with machines on the slabs or at ground level. Safety, cordoning, dust suppression and vibration monitoring are planned in advance so neighbours and ongoing operations are disturbed as little as possible – even in the most complex environments.

From demolition start to correctly sorted fractions

The concrete is crushed and reused or recycled, metals go to metal recovery. All demolition material is sorted into fractions for the lowest possible environmental impact, transports are planned for the shortest possible distance per fraction – and as little as possible goes to landfill. We are proud to say we have recycled over 100,000 tonnes of material to date.

FAQ

Heavy demolition FAQ

What counts as heavy demolition?

Demolition of load-bearing structures in concrete, steel and timber – complete frames, floor slabs and base slabs. The work requires heavy machinery, the right tools and careful planning, unlike light demolition which covers surface layers and fit-out.

Can you demolish tall buildings in the city centre?

Yes – but it depends entirely on the load-bearing conditions around the building: is there a basement, metro line or parking garage? That determines whether we can set up a high-reach excavator demolishing from ground level, or lift an excavator onto the roof. With meticulous planning we demolish tall buildings even on dense inner-city sites – for example a 16-storey office building, or right in the middle of Södermalm in Stockholm.

What happens to the concrete and steel?

The concrete is crushed and recycled where possible – it can become a product for reuse or be used as fill or construction material. The steel goes to material recovery, and every fraction is documented in accordance with current waste regulations.
